This scrappy Irish chain quilting pattern uses scraps from old clothes to create a unique design. The pattern includes instructions for making the blocks, sewing the rows together, and finishing the quilt top. Cut strips into 2 1/2″ wide strips: To make the scrappy Irish chain quilts, cut strips of fabric into 2 1/2″ wide strips. You will need at least two colors of fabric for each block. Sew the strips together by stitching them end to end with a zigzag stitch. Press the seams open. The scrappy Irish chain quilt pattern is one of the easiest patterns to sew.
