We often have a handful of scraps that we don’t know what to do with… that’s why this easy basket that you can sew with 10 ‘cake squares is perfect, being a quick and easy to sew fabric basket that is also reversible (so the lining and exterior can change at any time).
If you are new to sewing, don’t worry, this is the perfect place to start! This fabric basket pattern is suitable for beginners and can be completed in less than 30 minutes for most people.Fabric baskets are great for storing your favorite craft and sewing supplies and for decorating and adding splashes of color to your home inexpensively. They are also great for children’s rooms. If you want to make your basket with patchwork style, start by cutting little squares out of the chosen fabrics, and sewing them together, forming the desired size for the sides of your basket.
And for the bottom of the basket, cut another fabric, as in the example, or do patchwork, if you prefer. Then cut the acrylic blanket a little larger than the size of the fabrics and sew a straight seam in the seams of the fabric styles.I love sewing projects that use pre-cut fabrics but I often have a handful of leftovers pieces that I’m not sure what to do with.
